Iran Air has expanded its international scheduled network toward Pakistan by launching regular flights between Zahedan and Quetta on October 14. This inaugural flight establishes a direct air corridor connecting southeastern Iran to western Pakistan, linking the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan directly with the Pakistani province of Balochistan.
With the addition of this new sector, the Iranian flag carrier now operates three distinct routes connecting the two neighbouring states. The Zahedan–Quetta service operates on a weekly basis, with flights scheduled every Wednesday.
This service follows the previous resumption of two other regional links by Iran Air to Karachi. The airline already reinstated scheduled operations from Tehran to Karachi operating on Mondays, as well as flights from Mashhad to Karachi on Tuesdays.
Why it matters for your training
Cross-border network developments require flight crews and dispatchers to account for regional operational specifics and available alternate aerodromes in adjacent airspace.
