On Tuesday evening, 13 October, technical incidents simultaneously disrupted air traffic across two major hubs in Texas: Houston George Bush Intercontinental and Austin-Bergstrom.

At Houston, damage to a fiber optic cable led to flight delays. In response, the FAA enforced a temporary ground stop for flights bound for the airfield between 18:30 and 20:00 local time. Air traffic operations gradually normalized around 21:15, while repair work was completed on Wednesday morning.

Concurrently, Austin-Bergstrom experienced a partial electrical power failure affecting the Barbara Jordan Terminal starting around 17:50. The outage forced airlines to adjust several arrival and departure schedules. Technicians fully restored the electrical supply shortly after 20:00, though the underlying cause of the failure remained undetermined.
