Aviation investment firm AIP Capital and private investment entity Bridgepoint have broadened their existing collaborative framework by adding Bahrain-based financial institution GFH Bank. The three commercial partners plan to establish a substantial portfolio of commercial aircraft engines with a total market valuation exceeding one billion dollars.

The business partnership established between AIP Capital and Bridgepoint has been active since 2024. In its early stages, their joint undertaking centered specifically on Leap-1B engines manufactured by CFM International. Subsequently, in July 2026, the two corporate partners entered into an agreement covering the acquisition of eleven additional powerplants of this specific model.

Under the expanded alliance, GFH joins the structure as a major capital provider within a newly formed joint investment platform. Simultaneously, investment funds under the direct management of Bridgepoint are deploying supplementary financial resources. The involved companies have not revealed concrete investment amounts.

Why it matters for your training

The consolidation of major spare engine portfolios directly affects supply chain availability for commercial operators. For flight crews, stable pool reserves reduce grounded aircraft events linked to engine maintenance turnaround times.
