Airport operator AERODOM, a subsidiary of VINCI Airports, has scheduled 1.9 million seats and more than 10,500 outbound flights for the 2026-2027 winter season, running from late October through late March. The updated schedule represents a 4.9% increase over the previous period and includes eight new international destinations across its airport network.

The Canadian market leads this expansion with over 230,000 scheduled seats, marking a 33% surge that includes six new routes from Santo Domingo (SDQ) and three from Puerto Plata (POP). Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo will handle more than 1.5 million seats. Key schedule additions at SDQ include ITA Airways operating nonstop from Rome, Air Canada connecting Montreal, United Airlines flying to Houston, and Fly Always serving Paramaribo, alongside routes to Caracas and Cap-Haïtien. Furthermore, American Airlines will scale up its Philadelphia service from 24 to 153 flights, JetBlue will expand Fort Lauderdale capacity by 128%, and Iberia will add over 100 flights to Madrid.

At Puerto Plata, capacity will rise 8.8% with operations from Flair Airlines, WestJet, Air Transat, and Wingo, while Samaná will record a 29% seat increase. This traffic growth coincides with infrastructure developments at Las Américas, comprising a new terminal, automated baggage systems, and main runway rehabilitation.

Why it matters for your training
