Qatar Airways is progressively reconnecting Doha with key Middle Eastern hubs. After announcing its summer 2026 program covering over 150 destinations across six continents, the Qatari carrier is resuming daily services to the United Arab Emirates and Syria. Flights to Dubai (DXB) and Sharjah (SHJ) resumed on April 23, 2026, while Damascus (DAM) will follow on May 1, 2026, with one daily frequency each.
These routes are part of a broader strategy to strengthen Doha Hamad International Airport as a transfer hub, feeding its long-haul network to Europe, Asia, and Africa. The airline had previously scaled back operations but is now ramping up, having restored service to over 90 and then 120 destinations before summer 2026. The addition of Dubai, Sharjah, and Damascus reinforces competition with Gulf rivals like Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad.
For passengers, Qatar Airways has extended flexible travel policies. Those with bookings between February 28 and September 15, 2026, can change dates without fees up to October 31, 2026, subject to availability. If a flight is impacted, further free changes are allowed. Refunds may also be available depending on fare conditions. Passengers are advised to check the airline's official channels for updates.
This network expansion and flexibility aim to reassure travelers amid ongoing schedule uncertainties, making Doha a more attractive connection point for summer 2026.
