Avianca has unveiled an update to its long-haul Insignia product, scheduling the introduction of enclosed suites on its Boeing 787 fleet from 2027. The first retrofitted widebody is expected next year, before a progressive rollout across the long-haul network. The new cabin configuration will feature sliding privacy doors, 180-degree lie-flat seats, 19-inch 4K screens, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Colombian carrier currently operates a daily direct service between Bogota and Paris-Charles de Gaulle using 250-seat Boeing 787-8 aircraft, configured with 28 business class seats and 222 economy seats. Since reinstating the route on July 3, 2024, after a twenty-year hiatus, the airline has carried over 330,000 passengers on this city pair, including more than 90,000 during the first half of 2026. The route competes directly with Air France.

Across the Atlantic, the Abra Group airline operates 57 weekly frequencies between Europe and Latin America, serving Bogota from Paris, London, and Barcelona, alongside services connecting Madrid to Bogota, Medellín, and Cali. The Insignia product is offered on 787 flights serving these European gateways as well as New York, where it was introduced on Dreamliner flights on August 4, 2026.
