Data released by the Dominican Republic's Junta de Aviación Civil (JAC) confirms Arajet became the second largest operator by passenger volume to and from the country in September 2026. The national carrier handled 158,407 direct passengers, representing a 62% year-on-year surge compared to the 97,797 passengers recorded in September 2025. Total passenger volume reached 180,841 when including connecting travelers, according to company records.

Arajet ranked behind JetBlue (243,955 passengers) while surpassing major international carriers:

  • Copa Airlines: 122,220 passengers
  • American Airlines: 115,406 passengers
  • Delta Air Lines: 94,763 passengers
  • United Airlines: 94,288 passengers

Traffic flows centered on key international markets: the United States (43,021 passengers), Colombia (35,413), and Argentina (21,164), followed by Mexico (16,356), Puerto Rico (8,628), Peru (7,407), Brazil (7,117), and Canada (5,609). High-density city pairs included Bogotá (18,413 passengers), Newark (16,952), Buenos Aires (16,025), Miami (15,654), and Medellín (15,569).

CEO and founder Víctor Pacheco emphasized that these results validate the airline's expansion strategy initiated at its operational launch in 2022 to establish a Caribbean transit hub.

Why it matters for your training
