Airbus delivered 72 commercial aircraft to 37 customers in September 2026, bringing its cumulative total for the first nine months to 547 units. Despite persistent supply chain bottlenecks affecting engines from Pratt & Whitney and CFM International as well as cabin components, the manufacturer maintains its full-year objective of approximately 870 deliveries for 2026.

Meeting this guidance requires handing over at least 323 aircraft during the fourth quarter, averaging nearly 108 aircraft per month across final assembly lines in Hamburg, Toulouse, Mirabel, Mobile, and Tianjin. In comparison, Airbus delivered 286 aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2025.

September deliveries were dominated by single-aisle aircraft, accounting for 67 out of 72 handovers across the A320neo and A220 families. IndiGo took delivery of seven A321neo and three A320neo aircraft, while Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Air Canada, and Breeze Airways also received airframes. Widebody handovers totaled five aircraft, including two A330-900 deliveries to Air Algérie.

On the commercial front, Airbus booked 17 gross orders in September—including 15 A320neo for Air Cairo and two A321neo for FlyOne Armenia—netting 14 orders after three cancellations. Between January and September 2026, net orders reached 1,105 aircraft, bringing the total order backlog to 9,310 commercial airframes.
