Air France and Delsey Paris have launched a new luggage and travel accessories collection named 'Élégance', continuing their collaboration that began with 'New Envol' and 'Allure'. This signature line aims to combine Delsey's luggage craftsmanship with Air France's brand universe, targeting both premium and leisure travelers. The collection includes rigid polycarbonate suitcases, backpacks, and covers, designed to cover all travel needs from cabin to hold, and is part of Air France's strategy to diversify revenue through its online shop and selected retailers.
The rigid suitcase line features polycarbonate shells with a satin twill anti-scratch finish, available in black, navy, and ivory—colors inspired by Air France's long-haul cabins, particularly La Première for the ivory shade. Each suitcase has an expandable volume, zippered dividers, and a removable, washable recycled lining. Security features include Securitech® zippers and TSA-approved locks, along with four silent double wheels for easy maneuverability in airports.
A notable addition is the 55 cm cabin suitcase now offered in a 'Business' version with a Bluetooth tracker slot, helping frequent flyers monitor their luggage during connections. Air France permits such devices but reminds passengers of lithium battery regulations. For hold luggage, the collection includes a weight indicator in the handle to avoid excess baggage fees, with sizes 66 cm and 76 cm, both expandable.
For the first time in this collaboration, 'Élégance' includes two backpacks made from 100% recycled polyester with water-repellent properties. One is a tote-style backpack for daily use, and the other is designed to fit under the seat, with a padded laptop compartment and RFID protection. Both feature a trolley pass-through for easy attachment to suitcases, enhancing passenger flow during connections.
This collection reflects the growing trend of co-branded travel products that combine style, functionality, and compliance with airline regulations. For ATPL and ATC students, understanding luggage design and security features is relevant to passenger handling and safety procedures, especially regarding lithium batteries and cabin baggage restrictions.
