Vietjet takes over Russia-Vietnam charter flights from Azur Air
Tour operator Fun & Sun contracts Vietjet for services to Nha Trang as Azur Air drops scheduled charters from seven Russian cities, shifting capacity toward Phuket.
During the 2026/27 winter schedule, Vietnamese carrier Vietjet will take over a portion of charter operations linking Russia and Vietnam originally assigned to Azur Air. The Russian leisure airline has cancelled planned flight rotations to Nha Trang from seven Russian cities. Consequently, tour operator Fun & Sun has engaged Vietjet to service these routes. Azur Air plans to reallocate the released aircraft capacity to operate extra services to Phuket, according to reports from the Aviatorshina channel.
Vietjet also operates charter flights to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc on behalf of other tour operators. Concurrently, newcomer Sun Phu Quoc Airways intends to inaugurate six weekly rotations utilizing Airbus A330 equipment between Moscow Sheremetyevo and Phu Quoc beginning in November. These network shifts follow a bilateral agreement finalized between Russian and Vietnamese authorities in late September, authorizing an expansion of commercial air traffic quotas up to 105 weekly frequencies for each country.
