Vietjet enters the EU with Airbus A330 flights to Prague
Vietjet has inaugurated long-haul operations connecting Hanoi, Almaty, and Prague with Airbus A330 aircraft, marking the carrier's initial scheduled passenger service into the European Union.
Vietjet has officially commenced regular operations into the European Union, linking Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) with Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) via Almaty International Airport (ALA) in Kazakhstan.
The service operates on a bi-weekly schedule, conducting round trips on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flight operations are deployed with Airbus A330 widebody equipment configured with standard economy, Business, and SkyBoss premium cabins. Inaugural rotations reached both Almaty and Prague on October 10, 2026, accompanied by traditional water cannon salutes, prior to the formal announcement on October 11, 2026.
According to Vietjet chief executive officer Nguyen Thanh Son, this milestone supports the carrier's international network expansion, with plans to introduce further European destinations connecting traffic across Europe, Asia, and Australia. The carrier also intends to capitalize on bilateral visa-free entry regulations allowing Vietnamese nationals 30-day stays in Kazakhstan, while reinforcing commercial and cultural links between Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic.
