Boeing has rolled out the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner sporting the indigo color scheme for Riyadh Air from its paint facility located in Charleston, South Carolina, in the United States. The carrier has officially released initial imagery of this widebody twinjet as it nears final handover.

According to Riyadh Air, this indigo-and-lavender scheme draws inspiration from Arabic calligraphy alongside spring desert blooms, serving as an operational complement to the airline's primary pearlescent white livery. Current fleet planning anticipates that every tenth aircraft entering service will carry this specific indigo exterior, acting as a visual indicator tracking the expansion of the carrier.

Delivery of this Boeing 787-9 is planned in the near future. Following customer acceptance and transfer of title, the widebody is scheduled to appear across operations at one of the 15 global airports served by Riyadh Air.
