Groupe ADP will implement a complete renumbering of Paris-Charles de Gaulle terminals on March 16, 2027, retiring alphanumeric designations such as 2A, 2E, or 2G. Under the revised layout, Terminal 1 keeps its identity, while the current Terminal 3 becomes Terminal 2. The existing Terminals 2A and 2C will merge into Terminal 3, and 2B and 2D will form Terminal 4. Terminal 2E, 2F, and 2G will be re-designated as Terminals 5, 6, and 7, respectively.

Inside the facilities, boarding gates will shift to single-letter codes: S and R for Terminal 1, V for Terminal 2, F for Terminal 3, G and H for Terminal 4, B, C, and D for Terminal 5, E for Terminal 6, and N for Terminal 7. Adjoining parking facilities will align with the terminal numbering.

Signage replacement will span more than 3,000 indoor signs, 600 parking signs, and 250 roadway indicators between September and December 2026. Because carriers including Air France sell flights up to one year in advance, tickets have displayed updated assignments since March 16, 2026. The transition immediately precedes the CDG Express train service scheduled for March 28, 2027, aimed at easing movement for international connecting traffic, which represents over 30% of the airport's 72 million annual passengers recorded in 2025.

Why it matters for your training

For airline flight crews and dispatchers, terminal renumbering directly impacts flight preparation, operational documentation, and ground briefings at one of Europe's primary hubs.
