KLM extends Riyadh and Dammam flight suspension until October 31
Due to ongoing regional instability, the Dutch carrier maintains operational halts on Saudi routes and adjusts its Middle East flight network.
KLM has extended the cancellation of its flights to Riyadh and Dammam through October 31. The airline continually revises its flight schedules across the Middle East based on operational and security assessments.
The carrier previously suspended services to Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam through October 24 before implementing this latest prolongation for the Saudi destinations. Meanwhile, services between Amsterdam and Tel Aviv were resumed on August 25. To mitigate operational and safety constraints on that route, flights operate with an intermediate technical stop in Larnaca, where flight crews layover overnight.
Earlier operational measures included avoiding the airspaces of Iran, Iraq, and Israel, as well as multiple Gulf countries. During past disruptions, KLM and partner Transavia executed repatriation rotations via Muscat, Cairo, and Hurghada in coordination with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and repositioned a Boeing 787 stranded in Dubai under strict safety procedures without passengers. KLM coordinates with Air France and Delta Air Lines to provide alternative routings for affected passengers.
