JetBlue has inaugurated daily scheduled flights linking Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali, Colombia. Operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, flight 1535 departs Florida at 10:05 local time to reach Cali at 12:52, before returning as flight 1540 at 14:10 to land at 19:00.
Cali becomes the carrier's fourth destination in Colombia, following Cartagena, Medellín, and Barranquilla, which launched on October 1. The daytime timing contrasts with competitor Avianca, which operates night rotations on the city pair, while Spirit Airlines previously served the connection until April.
This route forms part of a broader expansion from Fort Lauderdale, where Latin America and the Caribbean account for roughly one-third of the airline's overall network capacity. The carrier has added 12 nonstop destinations from the airport since December 2025, increasing daily departures by over 75% year-on-year. Network plans also include adding Columbus, Indianapolis, and San Diego in November, lifting scheduled operations past 150 daily departures during the peak winter season, up from the 113 projected the previous year.
Why it matters for your training
For flight crews, network growth across Latin America reshapes line flying patterns and highlights competitive scheduling differences between daytime and overnight rotations.
