Heston Airlines operates Airbus A320 for Syrian Air to Vienna
Heston Airlines provides an Airbus A320 with crew to Syrian Air on its resumed route between Damascus and Vienna under an ACMI agreement.
Lithuanian charter airline Heston Airlines has announced that it is now operating flights on behalf of Syrian Air on the newly resumed route between Damascus and Vienna. To ensure the operation of this direct service, the Lithuanian carrier is making an Airbus A320 available to the Syrian carrier, complete with crew.
This operation is conducted under an ACMI partnership, an acronym defined as Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance. In this operational framework, the airline provides the aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance to the partner airline.
Syrian Air had reinstated this direct connection to Vienna at the end of September, following an operational disruption of roughly 14 years. Furthermore, Heston Airlines already operates commercial flights for Syrian Air between Damascus and Amsterdam under this ongoing ACMI arrangement.
