The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has tightened its security recommendations regarding operations across Jordan. The European regulatory body now advises airlines and operators to completely steer clear of Jordanian airspace at all flight levels and altitudes. Prior to this updated safety guidance, the agency had merely advised flight crews and operators to exercise increased vigilance when navigating the area.

This sharpened advisory could disrupt the planned flight resumption schedule announced by Lufthansa Group for Amman. Austrian Airlines had originally prepared to restart its flights to the Jordanian capital as early as October 2, while Lufthansa had scheduled its own operational return for October 25.

Addressing the regulatory warning, a spokeswoman stated that Lufthansa Group continuously monitors and assesses the operational environment across the Middle East while remaining in close, ongoing coordination with competent authorities.
