Dominican airline Arajet plans to expand its operational fleet to approximately 26 aircraft by the end of 2027, according to corporate statements made during the International Tourism Fair. The carrier expects to take delivery of one additional aircraft late this year, followed by nine units throughout 2027. This incoming capacity will support a route network projected to exceed 35 destinations across at least 20 countries in the Americas and the Caribbean.

The airline operates a dual-hub model in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana channels international leisure traffic connecting points such as Canada, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Santo Domingo serves business and diaspora routes, linking primarily to United States destinations including New York, Miami, and Boston, as well as San Juan and Guatemala.

In South America, Arajet expects to carry over 290,000 passengers in Argentina this year. Its footprint encompasses Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Rosario, alongside the resumption of services to Mendoza on October 9 after a winter hiatus. Management highlighted that jet fuel represents roughly 40% of overall operating expenditures, requiring strict operational efficiencies across flight sectors to sustain route viability without degrading cost structures.

Why it matters for your training

Fleet additions and dual-hub scheduling directly dictate line pilot recruitment pipelines, sector lengths, and crew rostering across regional low-cost operations.
