Airbus has inaugurated its renovated manufacturing facility in El Puerto de Santa María, completing the consolidation of its operations across the Cádiz region in southern Spain. The site unites the previously separate workforces of Puerto Real and El Puerto de Santa María into a single operating team numbering 750 employees.

The plant expansion adds 4,000 m² of industrial floor space along with additional logistical land, newly constructed service buildings, and repurposed administrative areas. Production lines dedicated to the A320, A330, and A350 commercial programmes have been transferred to the upgraded site. The manufacturer integrated higher levels of process automation and advanced carbon-fibre composite technology to support planned commercial aircraft ramp-up targets.

Alongside civil transport manufacturing, the unified facility maintains production components for Airbus Defence and Space programmes, including the A400M, MRTT, C295, and Eurofighter. According to Lars Wagner, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, the multi-product site establishes operational synergies between commercial and defence manufacturing by sharing structural technologies across programmes.
